Hot Stuff - It's Pepper Season!
Pepper Fest at Sunken Gardens

It takes a lot of "guts" to enter a hot pepper eating contest! And, that's just what entrants will need in order to eat as many hot sauce marinated hot peppers within a two minute window. Come and find out who's hot and who's not.

Sponsored by Tijuana Flats, this "hurts so good" hot pepper eating contest is just one of the fiery attractions at this years' 2nd Annual Hot Pepper Fest at Sunken Gardens, taking place on October 4th.

It's hot pepper season and this is the best place to get a full dose of everything and anything peppers. From pepper plants sweet and hot, to food and hot sauces, this is where you'll satisfy your cravings for the spicy. Then, wash it all down with an ice cold beer as you listen to the hot Latin music played by DJ Muevet.

Take in the pepper artwork, clothing, jewelry and enjoy the festival as you wander the beautiful botanical paradise of this 100 year old garden. As St. Petersburg's oldest living museum, this is home to more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers.

The Hot Pepper Fest is Sunday, October 4 from 11am to 4pm.
Entries for hot pepper eating contest accepted from 11am-1:30pm. Hot Pepper eating contest is at 2pm.
