19th Annual Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic

Sheraton Sand Key Resort 1160 Gulf Blvd. Clearwater Beach, FL 33767-2799  "It's a Dixie and Swing Thing!" Traditional jazz and swing will once again fill the air at the 19th annual Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic. This event is the largest traditional festival in the state and one of the largest on the east coast. The Sheraton Sand Key Resort & Marriott Suites on Sand Key the Holiday Inn on Clearwater Beach will host a crowd of about 5,000 over three days. More than 20 bands will play in several venues, from gulf side to ballroom. Additional parking and shuttle service available. Rocky and Friends

Leepa-Ratner Museum of Art 600 E. Klosterman Rd. Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art will open a special exhibition, Rocky and Friends, in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce Fine Arts and Crafts Festival. The festival will be held on December 5th and 6th while Rocky and Friends will open on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 in the North and South Galleries of the museum. The exhibition consists of artwork from contemporary artists Rocky Bridges and nine of his colleagues who include: Catherine Bergman, David Bewley, John Costin, Ummarid (Tony) Eitharong, Susan Livingston, Duncan McClellan, Carole Napoli, Judi Wood and Josette Urso. The variety of media and styles represented by these artists mirrors the diversity and quality of the works also being showcased in the annual two-day festival.
