The Public Relations department offers assistance to print and electronic consumer and travel trade media. The department offers editorial materials, color slides, black & white photographs and beta (PAL and NTSC) b-roll to qualified media for editorial purposes. Public Relations staff assists media with fact checking and serves as a point of contact for all types of tourism-related inquiries concerning the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area.
To serve as a resource for national and international journalists, the Public Relations department writes and distributes area news releases, a quarterly newsletter and serves as spokesperson for the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area tourism industry. Interested media can be added to the department mailing list by filling out a request form.
The Public Relations department provides assistance to travel journalists on assignment by arranging itineraries and facilitating visits to the attractions, cultural venues and other points of interest that will be covered in their articles, books and broadcasts. Individual trip arrangements can be set up on a media rate/comp basis and are handled on an individual basis. A letter of assignment and recent examples of travel or travel-related feature coverage must also be provided.
Public Relations also conducts press trips, also known as familiarization (FAM) tours, that showcase the destination to the media and generate exposure worldwide. Interested media may fill out a request form to be added to the department mailing list and be considered for inclusion in an upcoming press trip. |
