Love and Death: Dali and Two French Writers
Two never-before-exhibited suites of etchings by Dali from the museum's permanent collection are featured in this exhibit. The etchings, which survey the themes of love and death, illustrate the works of two French writers: Guillaume Apollinaire and Andre Malraux. Red Grooms: The Graphic Work
The exhibition covers forty years of printmaking by one of the best-known American artists working today. Red Grooms grew up in Nashville and moved first to Chicago and then to New York, where he found the vitality of the city and the diversity of lifestyles to be an inspiration for his prints. Little Luxuries: Antique Baby Rattles and Teethers
The tradition of teethers and rattles for babies is as old as humankind. During the Enlightenment and particularly in the nineteenth century, as the child had a more honored place in society, the variety and types of rattles increased in Europe and the United States. The Mystique of the Motorcycle

H.M.S. Bounty
The 169-foot replica of the 18-century British naval vessel will dock at the Pier and be available for tours, day cruises and a six-day sail to the Dry Tortugas. The vessel was built in 1960 for MGM to use in the first remake of the film "Mutiny on the Bounty." Florida Gulf Beaches Marathon

Art for the People: Soviet Realism
This exhibit, in conjunction with with the 100/300 Celebration in St. Petersburg, features 22 portrait and genre paintings from many of the 13 former USSR republics during the Soviet era. The paintings show life in Soviet Russia through the eyes of the populace. For many years, the Western world did not get a glimpse inside the USSR. Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
The inaugural running of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg races into Floridas Beach February 21-23, 2003 on a waterfront course that is sure to have everyone on the edge of every seat along the track. The 2003 Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will run as the season opener for the CART FedEx Championship Series. This Indy-style auto racing event features a 1.78-mile circuit along the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront with spectacular views of Tampa Bay. Tickets range from $35 for Sunday-only general admission to $105 for a three-day ticket including reserved seating in upper levels of the grandstands. Grand Prix Weekend Event Parking There are approximately 7,000 parking spaces on the street and in public and private parking lots surrounding the Grand Prix race circuit, and 25,000 within a mile of the downtown waterfront. Spring on the Flats fishing tournament
Proceeds from this catch and release tournament go to the Pinellas County Environmental Foundation (PCEF). The PCEF grant program benefits Tampa Bay and its watershed, including such projects as sea grass restoration, water quality improvements and environmental education. The two-day event begins with a Captains Meeting and Pairings Party at the tournament headquarters, the Renaissance Vinoy Resort. Historic Tours of the Fort Harrison Hotel
"Sundays at the Fort Harrison" which is a weekly open house at the Hotel, lasts from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. This open house includes an in-depth historical tour of the hotel at 2 p.m., the Images of a Lifetime photo exhibition based on the life of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, and Sunday Brunch and dinner at the hotel's Hibiscus restaurant. The Sunday brunch buffet costs $20, dinner entrees range from $8 - $16. Times Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot celebrates its 25th anniversary with an anticipated 10,000 runners trotting through Clearwater. Egmont Key Kayak Eco-Tour

Sweetwater Kayaks guides this intermediate-level sea kayak tour of historic Egmont Key. Leaving from the Gulf Pier in Fort De Soto Park, the trip features a one mile open water crossing to Egmont Key. The key is home to a bird sanctuary, lighthouse and a Spanish-American War-era fort. Some of the fort is submerged and makes a great place for snorkeling and observing underwater life. Participants may explore the deserted brickstreet of a once vibrant area or lounge on top of the fort for lunch overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Wildllife frequently seen on this trip include: dolphins, rays, egrets, sandpipers, herons, gulls, pelicans, shark, tarpon, gopher and box turtles, sheephead and stone clawed crabs. Pier Aquarium Annual Fish Head Ball

Kids Fishing Tournament

Kids 12 and under (accompanied by an adult) are invited to grab their favorite fishing pole and spend a day full of fishing and fun at the Pier Aquarium. The first 200 kids will receive an initial supply of bait, a goodie bag and lunch. Registration is at 8:30 a.m.; fishing is from 9 - 11 a.m.; and prizes and trophies will be awarded from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids are also able to make their hydrologic cycle bracelet at the Conservation Station. Give a Day to the Bay
We have not received the official date for this event, but it is usually held in January. Give A Day For The Bay offers citizens an opportunity to participate in hands-on bay improvement or restoration projects. The event will last a half-day, from approximately 8:30 a.m.-noon. All volunteers will receive a free lunch, t-shirt and other goodies, plus the satisfaction of knowing they have helped to restore the Tampa Bay. Native sea oats will be planted along sand dunes at Fort De Soto Park. Sea oats help hold the dunes in place, so they can function as natural storm buffers. They also provide food and shelter for coastal wildlife. Lunch will follow at one of the parks picnic shelters. Once the work is done, enjoy swimming, fishing, cycling or roller-blading in one of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater areas most spectacular coastal parks. Clearwater Beach Swim Competition
We haven't received final dates for this event, but it is generally held in June. A one-mile swim competition will be held at Clearwater Beach just south of Pier 60. The race will raise funds for the Junior Lifeguard Program and send the Lifeguard Competition Team to the Sutheast Regional Finals in Coco Beach in July and Nationals in San Diego in August. Chuck Lamar's Mercury Grand Slam Celebrity Fishing Tournament

A field of 50 boats is expected to participate in the two-day tournament, departing each morning from the Vinoy Yacht Basin. Blue Jays Holiday Baseball Camp
We have not received the official date for this event, but it is usually held in January. The Toronto and Dunedin Blue Jays are offering a three-day holiday baseball camp for children ages 6-14. Camp sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day at newly renovated Dunedin Stadium. Each camper will receive a ballpark lunch (hot dog, soda and chips) at the conclusion of each camp session. The three-day camp will feature professional instruction in all phases of the game by Blue Jays players and coaches. Participants will be grouped by age and/or skill level. A certified athletic trainer will be on staff to help insure a safe experience for all participants. Cost is $80 per camper and includes a t-shirt and a complimentary ticket to a Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training game. A portion of each registration fee will be donated to District 12 Little League.
