World War II: Dunedin and the Homefront

Love and Death: Dali and Two French Writers
Two never-before-exhibited suites of etchings by Dali from the museum's permanent collection are featured in this exhibit. Famous Faces: Celebrity Portraits in Photography
From the earliest period of photographic history in the 1840s, the portrait could be viewed as photography's reason for being. By the nineteenth-century's close, practitioners of the medium asserted its artfulness with landscapes and posed tableaux, but engaging portraits continued to flourish, deriving from both photography's commercial and artistic side. Famous people faced the photographer's camera not only for their family and friends, but also for history, posterity, and adoring admirers. This exhibition contains such portraits as the writer George Sand by Nadar, physicist Albert Einstein by Philippe Halsmann, poet Ezra Pound by Richard Avedon, and film star Gloria Swanson by Edward Steichen. Red Grooms: The Graphic Work
The exhibition covers forty years of printmaking by one of the best-known American artists working today. Red Grooms grew up in Nashville and moved first to Chicago and then to New York, where he found the vitality of the city and the diversity of lifestyles to be an inspiration for his prints. A selection of 110 wall pieces and 15 pedestal pieces drawn from the private collection of Walter G. Little Luxuries: Antique Baby Rattles and Teethers
The tradition of teethers and rattles for babies is as old as humankind. During the Enlightenment and particularly in the nineteenth century, as the child had a more honored place in society, the variety and types of rattles increased in Europe and the United States. This exhibition contains a variety of rattles from a period of approximately three hundred years and in a range of materials, including gold, silver, tin, ivory, coral, and crystal. This exhibition features almost 100 motorcycles representing 32 manufacturers from the world-class collection of Trev Deeley, a motorcycle racer, owner of Canada's first Harley-Davidson dealership and holder of the only Harley-Davidson franchise in Canada. Blue Jays Holiday Baseball Camp
The Toronto and Dunedin Blue Jays are offering a three-day holiday baseball camp for children ages 6-14. Camp sessions will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day at newly renovated Dunedin Stadium. Each camper will receive a ballpark lunch (hot dog, soda and chips) at the conclusion of each camp session. The three-day camp will feature professional instruction in all phases of the game by Blue Jays players and coaches. Participants will be grouped by age and/or skill level. Give a Day to the Bay

Give A Day For The Bay offers citizens an opportunity to participate in hands-on bay improvement or restoration projects. The event will last a half-day, from approximately 8:30 a.m.-noon. Native sea oats will be planted along sand dunes at Fort De Soto Park. Sea oats help hold the dunes in place, so they can function as natural storm buffers. Gulf Beaches Elementary School hosts this annual beach tradition that features a live and silent auction, carnival games, prizes, char-grilled mullet, hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy from 1 - 7 p.m. Dinners for adults are $6 and children's dinners are $3.
