The St. Petersburg 2002 Festival of States
Music is the focal point of this springtime festival, the South's largest civic celebration which celebrates its 80th year. Bands from throughout the United States compete during the two weeks of competition. The Festival includes three major parades, concerts,Extreme Sports, 3 on 3, Basketball, beach volleyball and much more. All events are based at St. Petersburg's downtown parks. 2002 Florida Power Festival of States PierFest
The events include a three-on-three basketball competition (open to all age groups), The Tasco Extreme games sanctioned by the Southeastern Skateboarding Series competition. A two-day Tire Kingdom and Michelin Cruzin and Fantasy Lows Car Show and competition will be happening along sides of The Pier approach Cars will be entered in the show from all over the state. Other features include celebrity autograph signing; interactive games such as Moon Walk, Pedestal Joust, Velcro Obstacle Course, Human Gyro Wheel, Hi Ball, and Rock Climbing Wall; and lots more. Festival of States 2002 KidsArt Festival

Tradewinds Resort Festival Parade

Beach to Bayou Run

Bay Area Renaissance Festival
Discover an enchanted realm of wizards and warriors amongst gourmet treats and unforgettable entertainment. Wander past eight lively stages and street theater featuring jugglers, magicians, fire eaters and specialty acts. The festival features live armoured contact jousting, human chess matches, minstrels, maiden faire, peasants, fools and Royalty. The Festival runs Friday - Sunday. Highland Games and Festival
The entire community celebrates its Scottish heritage at this annual event in Highlander Park. Since 1966 competitors from throughout the United States and Canada have taken part in Scottish band contests, Highlands dancing, piping and drumming, and traditional games. Tarpon Springs Arts & Crafts Festival

Florida Craftsmen Gallery: Gimme Shelter
Exhibition sponsor Don Strobel made and donated fifty 12x12 inch wooden house-shaped frames, providing an invitation for artists and gallery patrons to join in a community 'problem solving' project. The resulting neighborhood of artistic solutions features a variety of embellished, intricate and thematic houses...each available for purchase starting at $100. The Arts Center: Superheroes
This exhibit launches the fifth year of a successful cooperative venture between the Pinellas County Schools and the Arts Center. Herb Snitzer: Faces and Voices; St. Petersburg Up Close
Nationally known documentary photographer and St. Petersburg resident Herb Snitzer has developed a photo-documentary exhibition on the city of St. Petersburg, its citizens and their ideas about the city. The exhibition looks at contemporary St. Petersburg and portions of its history through the images and ideas espoused by a diverse selection of portrait subjects. American Stage's Shakespeare in the Park
The American Stage, St. Petersburg's professional theater, offers a live production of a William Shakespeare work in a beautiful outdoor setting. This year's performance is "Bomb-itty of Errors," a rapping, rhyming "Comedy of Errors," Shakespeare's tale of two sets of identical twins, separated as infants, who rediscover each other via a series of happy accidents and much pandemonium. Celebrating its 17th season, performances run Wednesday through Sunday on the waterfront at Demens Landing in downtown. World War II: Dunedin and the Homefront
The Dunedin Historical Museum presents this exhibit featuring artifacts from World War II. Dunedin was primarily a rural area during the War, but residents made considerable contributions. Florida International Museum Salutes Queen Elizabeth on her Golden Jubilee
In honor of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee, the Florida International Museum will salute her with a display that includes memorabilia dating back to 1837 and the reign of Queen Victoria. The museum is open year round, seven days a week. Monday through Saturday, the hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Last entry to the museum is at 4 p.m. daily. Museum of Fine Arts: Art of the Goldsmiths
This exhibit consists of approximately 65 works, including 15 one-of-a-kind museum pieces, designed by Gianmaria Buccellati. Museum of Fine Arts: Masterpieces of Photography
The twenty five images in this exhibit span from 1840-1980. Works by Henry Fox Talbot, Carleton Watkins, Alfred Stieglitz, Andre Kertesz, Paul Strand, Margaret Bourke-White, Russell Lee, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Robert Frank, Jerry Uelsmann and Patrick Nagatani will be on display.
