The Florida Marine Research Institute in St. Petersburg hosts this open house unveiling its labs and facilities to school children, groups and visitors. Sunsets Summer Beach Fest is a celebration on Clearwater Beach with calypso, reggae, and island sounds. The festival goes from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. The three days of festivities will include artisans, crafters, street performers, music, food and beverage. Scheduled music is a "Tribute to Jimmy Buffet" on Friday night, which is also the official kick-off event for the Fun n Sun Celebration. The evening will close with a fireworks spectacular over the water off Clearwater Beach. The American Stage, St. Petersburg's professional theater, offers a live production of a William Shakespeare work in a beautiful outdoor setting. This year's performance is "Bomb-itty of Errors," a rapping, rhyming "Comedy of Errors," Shakespeare's tale of two sets of identical twins, separated as infants, who rediscover each other via a series of happy accidents and much pandemonium. This exhibit consists of approximately 65 works, including 15 one-of-a-kind museum pieces, designed by Gianmaria Buccellati. The Dunedin Historical Museum presents this exhibit featuring artifacts from World War II. Dunedin was primarily a rural area during the War, but residents made considerable contributions. In honor of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee, the Florida International Museum will salute her with a display that includes memorabilia dating back to 1837 and the reign of Queen Victoria. This exhibit will revisit the circus-like atmosphere empire that coverd several city blocks, selling everything from groceries to men's clothes.
