Bay Area Renaissance Festival
Discover an enchanted realm of wizards and warriors amongst gourmet treats and unforgettable entertainment. Wander past eight lively stages and street theater featuring jugglers, magicians, fire eaters and specialty acts. The festival features live armoured contact jousting, human chess matches, minstrels, maiden faire, peasants, fools and Royalty. The Festival runs Friday - Sunday. Florida Craftsmen Gallery: Gimme Shelter
Exhibition sponsor Don Strobel made and donated fifty 12x12 inch wooden house-shaped frames, providing an invitation for artists and gallery patrons to join in a community 'problem solving' project. The resulting neighborhood of artistic solutions features a variety of embellished, intricate and thematic houses...each available for purchase starting at $100. The Arts Center: East Asian Shores
The Arts Center opens its first exhibition devoted solely to the work of East Asian artists now residing in the United States. Bridging traditions and influences, cultural heritage affects the choice of imagery, medium and technique. Ten artists are participating, with work in ceramics, mixed media and painting. The Arts Center: Superheroes
This exhibit launches the fifth year of a successful cooperative venture between the Pinellas County Schools and the Arts Center. Middle school students (exhibit through March 24) and high school students (exhibit March 24 through May 3) portray real or fictional heroes through visual art combined with the written word. World War II: Dunedin and the Homefront
The Dunedin Historical Museum presents this exhibit featuring artifacts from World War II. Dunedin was primarily a rural area during the War, but residents made considerable contributions. Florida International Museum Salutes Queen Elizabeth on her Golden Jubilee
In honor of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee, the Florida International Museum will salute her with a display that includes memorabilia dating back to 1837 and the reign of Queen Victoria. The museum is open year round, seven days a week. Monday through Saturday, the hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Last entry to the museum is at 4 p.m. daily. This exhibit consists of approximately 65 works, including 15 one-of-a-kind museum pieces, designed by Gianmaria Buccellati. Gulfport showcases the galleries and shops that make up its ArtVillage. Guests can browse and enjoy a festive evening featuring art, music and more in this pedestrian-friendly historic district.
