Gulfside Gallop
This race benefits the Indian Rocks Beach Civic Association scholarship fund. The event also features "Beauty & The Beach" festivities and an arts & crafts show. AVRF Walk-a-thon
This event helps to raise awareness and fund research into vitiligo, a disease that causes people to lose the pigmentation of their skin. Children walking with the AVRF all suffer from vitiligo. Drowning Prevention Event: Spring into Summer Safety
Learn about drowning prevention at this summer safety event. There will be a vendor fair, in-the-pool safety demonstrations such as a real-time 911 submersion rescue, water rescue demos, a kids fashion show spotlighting the latest in life vest fashions as well as swimming lessons demonstrations and high diving. There will also be children's activities on the grounds, a big vehicle display in the parking lot, and lots of fun for the family. The Clearwater Yacht Club is hosting the 23rd Annual Clark Mills Regatta, which celebrates the life and achievements of Clark Mills, father of the Optimist. Exhibition sponsor Don Strobel made and donated fifty 12x12 inch wooden house-shaped frames, providing an invitation for artists and gallery patrons to join in a community 'problem solving' project. Florida International Museum Salutes Queen Elizabeth on her Golden Jubilee
In honor of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee, the Florida International Museum will salute her with a display that includes memorabilia dating back to 1837 and the reign of Queen Victoria. The museum is open year round, seven days a week. Monday through Saturday, the hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Last entry to the museum is at 4 p.m. daily. When The Cold War Got Hot at the Florida International Museum
The Florida International Museum, a Smithsonian affiliate, now features temporary exhibits in addition to its permanent collection of John F. Kennedy memorabilia. When The Cold War Got Hot gives visitors a feel of how close the world came to nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
