Sand Dance
Celebrate the summer with the annual Sand Dance at the TradeWinds Sirata Beach Resort. Based at the Sirata's beach bar, the Sand Dance is a local tradition. The party runs 6 - 10:30 p.m. and features music by Rob Tyre and the Rockets of Love, and includes giveaways, Bud Girls, and a drawing for a Sirata Beach "Getaway for Two" package. Kidsweek
The week will be filled with fishing and sandcastle competitions, boat rides, clown shows, a pool party and arts and crafts. Children admitted when they purchase a $1 Kidsweek Button at either the Jolly Trolley station or the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center. Folk Art from the City of Orlando and the Mennello Museum of American Folk Art
This exhibition features important selections from the Mennello Museum of American Folk Art Collection. It features the work of artists such as O.L. Samuels, Nellie Mae Rowe and Howard Finster. Folk art, or "outsider art," as it is often referred to, includes work created by untrained artists who are driven by emotional or spiritual needs to make objects for the expression of their unique messages, often using non-traditional materials. Mystic Chords: Illuminated Photographs by Connie Sullivan
This exhibition contains approximately 35 large-scale works that date from the last decade. Although in the more traditional black and white mode, photographer Connie Sullivans photographs are rooted in contemporary issues in photography. Her intense focus is closely related to her fascination with the historical life of the earth, although she shuns the palette of nature as well as the human figure and the illusion of depth. The majority of work in this exhibition are in fact transparencies mounted on light boxes, their luminosity suggesting an other-worldly character. For more information, call 727-896-2667.

The Gulf Coast Museum of Art hosts summer camp for young artists between the ages of 6 and 13. Classes meet Monday through Friday during this two-week session. Camp Flight
The Florida International Museum hosts "Camp Flight," a children's workshop for school and camp groups to go along with the exhibit, On Miniature Wings: Model Aircraft of the National Air and Space Museum. The summer workshops are for children ages 5-12 and last approximately 2 hours. Children will receive a tour of the exhibit and a creative, hands-on workshop. On Miniature Wings
From the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum's collection of nearly 3,000 model aircraft, 25 superlative examples have been selected to celebrate the exciting role aircraft modeling has played in aviation history over the past 100 years. This exhibit depicts how scaled model aircraft were put to a wide range of uses and relates how modeling techniques and materials evolved to meet diverse challenges. Forms of Cubism: Sculpture and the Avante-Garde
This exhibit will feature sculpture and related drawings by early masters of Cubism: Lipschitz, Zadkine, Picasso, Braque, Gaudier-Brezka, Brancusi, Laurens and Archipenko. Webb's City: A Community Remembers
This exhibit will revisit the circus-like atmosphere of the store that grew to be a $30 million retail complex that covered several city blocks, selling everything from groceries to men's clothes. The exhibit will explore Webb's City years of dynamic, energetic ideas and hoopla, such as talking mermaids and chickens and chimp acts, that helped draw an average of 60,000 customers a day.
