Cuban artist Ray Azcuy will premier his first solo exhibition at the Arts Center. The exhibit features six large installations from a series of everyday symbols. More than 200 artists submitted work for this annual members exhibition. Artists were asked to create a personal interpretation of the theme. The Youth Arts Corps inspires people to realize their unique potential through art education and a positive development philosophy. The artwork for this exhibit resulted from a recent workshop at the Dali Museum. Students were asked to respond with drawings and sculpture to the Dali exhibition, Forms of Cubism. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium organizes one-hour educational walks with a Marine Biologist touring the nesting beaches of Florida's Beach area. This Florida International Museum exhibition of original artwork by Don Maitz presents the Golden Age of Piracy through facts and imagination. More than fifty works are displayed using oil paint, acrylic, pen, ink, watercolor and pencil. As the original and continuing artist of the popular Captain Morgan Spiced Rum character, Maitz has produced fourteen paintings of the character in the red suit. Smithsonian Kids Bridge asks school children, "What's in Your Head?" At the Kids Bridge booth, children can draw their friend's silhouette and add drawings of their own thoughts.
