Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary
In the quiet town of Indian Rocks Beach, the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary has saved the lives of thousands of wild birds. Founded in 1971, it’s the largest non-profit wild bird hospital in the United States, dedicated to the rescue, recuperation and release of sick and injured birds.

Every day, the facility treats an average of 24 injured “patients” – and on any visit you can see more than 600 birds, including cormorants, osprey, egrets and brown pelicans. The Sanctuary is also world renowned for its captive breeding program for the Eastern Brown Pelican. This is truly a worthwhile and rewarding attraction – unlike any other you’ll ever visit.
