Like so many new developments reaching for the sky around it, one downtown St. Petersburg tradition is on the rise – the 31st annual Mainsail Arts Festival, April 22 - 23.

The whole family can spend an ideal day in a transformed Vinoy Park, taking in outstanding art, listening to top-name entertainment and indulging in savory vendor treats. There’s even an occasion for kids to express their artistic talents at the “make-it-and-take-it” tent.

With 100,000 attendees anticipated, what once was known as the St. Petersburg Sidewalk Art Festival has matured to become one of the top 100 art festivals in the nation, offering $50,000 in prize money. Still, Mainsail keeps its local charm. Among its 280 professional artists from more than 33 states who will exhibit this year, the festival will showcase resident talent through “Young at Art,” presenting the work of more than 50 Pinellas County public and private school students.

With generous festival hours (Sat., 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sun., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Mainsail creates a friendly opportunity to view, buy or commission an original work of art. See you on the waterfront.
