The Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit
The special exhibit includes re-creations of the interior of the mammoth luxury liner, including the famous grand staircase and first- and third-class cabins. Tall Ship H.M.S. Bounty
Originally built for the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty, as a replica of the ship in the famous 1789 mutiny against Captain William Bligh, the ship is now being used for documentaries and film productions. While in St. Petersburg, the ship will participate in a film production for a current children’s TV show. The Bounty will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays. Admission charge is $5 to go below deck, step into sailors’ cabins, and see how sailors lived and worked more than 200 years ago. Dali Centennial: An American Collection
The museum's centenary exhibition will consist of a retrospective of the permanent collection. More than 100 oils, watercolors and drawings outlining Dali's career will be on display. Hot Glass! Glass Blowing Studio
The Arts Center will host ongoing demonstrations of the art and science of glass blowing. Visitors will watch as glass artists play with fire to melt silicon, color it and blow the molten glass into goblets, vases, pitchers and other objects. Visitors will also get a chance to try their hand in several workshops at the glass studio. School children will take part in the creative process by helping the artists design pieces while at the same time learning about the chemistry of glass. This project is being produced in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts, which is exhibiting Chihuly Across Florida: Masterworks in Glass. Dale Chihuly's art is collected and admired throughout the world. Chihuly Across Florida: Masterworks in Glass
This exhibit features the work of Dale Chihuly, a world famous glass artisan. Chihuly and his studio assistants have created these spectacular, large-scale glass sculptures specifically for St. Petersburg's Museum of Fine Arts. The works will be placed throughout the galleries in the city and respond to the architectural features of the Museum's neo-Palladian-style building, as well as its interior space. Some of his best known series will be represented: the Seaforms, Persians, Baskets, Macchia, and Venetians. Chihuly is one of the leading glass art pioneers. On display Jan. 18 to May 23, 2004. Trevor Bell: The Florida Years
British artist Trevor Bell worked in the State of Florida for over two decades. As a professor in the art department at Florida State University, he was head of graduate painting, extremely prolific, and exhibited internationally until his return to England in the late 1990s. His large-scaled shaped paintings, undulating with intense form and color, exude a sculptural quality while referencing the history of color-field painting and abstract expressionism. Bell is exhibited broadly in Europe and America, and his work is held in numerous prestigious public collections including: Aberdeen Art Gallery, Scotland; the Arts Council of Great Britain, the British Museum, the Florida House of Representatives in Tallahassee, IBM (Atlanta and Boca Raton), the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida, the Phoenix Art Museum, the University of Leeds, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Tom McCarthy: The Art of Adornment
Tom McCarthy is one of America’s preeminent metalsmiths. He has exhibited broadly in America, ranging from the Meadows Gallery in Denton, Texas to the Under 40 National Crafts Exposition at Western Kentucky University, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and in the Southeastern Fine Craft Biennial held at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art. Tom’s work is exquisitely crafted with an elegant minimalist approach. Jean Claude Rigaud: Defining Spaces
Jean-Claude Rigaud, of Haitian decent, received his BFA from the National University of Mexico in Mexico City, and undertook further studies at the Teachers College at Columbia University, and at the University of Miami. His work, in the grand tradition of encapsulating space with line and form, is held in numerous public and private collections. Major League Baseball Spring Training

Spring on the Flats Fishing Tournament
Proceeds from this catch and release tournament go to the Pinellas County Environmental Foundation (PCEF). The PCEF grant program benefits Tampa Bay and its watershed, including such projects as sea grass restoration, water quality improvements and environmental education. The two-day event begins with a Captain’s Meeting and Pairings Party at the tournament headquarters, the Renaissance Vinoy Resort. The 7th annual Tampa Bay Marathon Swim challenges long-distance swimmers to go 24 miles from the Holiday Inn Sunspree St. Petersburg across Tampa Bay to Ben Davis Beach in Tampa. Children's Embroidery Class at Heritage Village
Children ten years and older can learn this time honored craft in this class, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Daniel McMullen Home at Heritage Village. This is one in a set of 4 classes introducing a variety of embroidery techniques for skill levels from beginner to the more experienced. This retrospective exhibition documents the career of Arline Erdrich, an artist who lives and works in Florida. The Turkey Trot celebrates its 26th anniversary with an anticipated 10,000 runners trotting through Clearwater.
