One of the premier college football bowl games and the first bowl game of New Year's Day, the Outback Bowl features two of the nation's top teams from the Big 10 and SEC plus national television coverage. The game is played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. A week-long series of events precede the big game including the Bowl Beach Day. Natura Morta will bring more than 40 stunning paintings from some of the foremost collections in Florence, Italy, and indeed the world, to the United States for the first time. The works are borrowed from the Uffizi Gallery, the Pitti Palace, the Galleria dell' Accademia and the Botantical Museum of Florence. Dali and the Spanish Baroque

The exhibition will present Spanish and Dutch old master paintings alongside works by Dalí from the Museum's permanent collection. The exhibition seeks to demonstrate an important aspect of Dalí's approach to painting and its pictorial language, which is the incorporation of elements from Baroque painting. Dalí made frequent reference in his writings and even in the titles of his work to Baroque masters, which sets himself up as a modern equivalent to artists such as Velázquez. We do not have the official dates for this event, but it is usually held in March.Laissez les bon temps roulet! Louisiana comes to St. Petersburg for this tasty treat of a festival. Live music fills the air and 10,000 pounds of crawfish jambalaya, etouffe, funnel cakes and assorted Cajun cuisine will fill the festival attendees. Entertainment will include Geno Delafose & French Rockin Boogie, Roy Carrier & The Night Rockers, Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys, Kevin Naquin and The Ossun Playboys, The Porchdogs and Bousoleil Avec Michael Doucet! The festival will be held under a 20,000 sq. ft. pavilion and will include a kid's tent for families. Admission is $10 per day or $25 for a three-day pass. Children 10 and under are admitted free. The 2007 dates for this event have not been identified. Please check back for the dates. Heart of Largo will take you back to the good ole? days of the Sunday afternoon family picnic. Join us for the pie eating contest, volleyball, horseshoes, free train rides, coloring contest and live entertainment. There will be great demonstrations of basket weaving, quilting and more.
