This cultural extravaganza features colorful costumes, arts, crafts, dancing, steel drums and music from around the Caribbean, including calypso, soca, reggae and steel orchestra. The festivities take place in Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg and run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $10. Don't miss the Steel Pan Panorama Competition and Carnival Parade. Centered around the Pier and Vinoy basin, First Night features everything from fire sculptures to music, dancing, poetry, puppetry, theater, art, games and fireworks at midnight. We have not received the official dates for this event, but it is usually held in Janaury. The 33rd annual show and sale features more than 120 invited artists from more than 20 states.
