The Renaissance Vinoy Golf Course features nine lakes, narrow fairways, vast pine valleys, two double greens and a signature island green. In addition, the course offers an extensive, state-of-the-art sub service drainage system and 25-foot deep lakes to ensure year-round play. The highly acclaimed golf course architect Ron Garl, who designed nine of the top 50 courses in Florida, most recently restored the course in 2003. The signature hole, number 16, is a 568-yard, par 5 with water along both sides of the fairway culminating with an approach shot to an island green. The resort's championship course is also part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System, a national program coordinated by the Audubon Society of New York State and sponsored in part by the United States Golf Association. As a result, the course is involved in projects, which enhance wildlife habitats and preserve natural resources.
