The beach at Fort De Soto is ranked as America's Best Beach for 2005. Fort De Soto features a 238-site family camping area with facilities including picnic tables, grills, water, electricity, washers, dryers, sanitary disposal stations, modern restrooms, showers, play areas, and a camp store. Both primitive (tent) and recreational vehicle camping are available and there is a separate area for campers with pets. It is recommended that you make reservations well in advance. The campgrounds are so popular that many holiday weekends are sold out months in advance.
