Weekend Stay - Day 1
Make your first day a beach day, starting with a walk
along the water's edge while the beach is cool and quiet. Then stretch out
a towel or lounge chair and unwind for several hours. Just be sure to use
plenty of sunscreen to protect yourself.
For lunch, pick one of the many beachside cafes and restaurants. Frenchy's
in Clearwater is a popular spot to enjoy a grouper sandwich - a local specialty.
The afternoon is a good time to head out onto the Gulf for dolphin watching.
Dolphin
Encounter Cruises leave throughout the day from the Clearwater Beach Marina.
When you dock, you'll be in the heart of Clearwater Beach, where you can continue
to see more of the local wildlife by visiting the Clearwater
Marine Aquarium with hourly presentations and underwater viewing of sharks
and other denizens of the deep.
As the sun sets, join the celebration and entertainment at Pier
60 on Clearwater Beach. Then drive down the coast to the Hurricane on
St. Pete Beach, a favorite place for dinner with locals and visitors alike.
There's also music and entertainment in the evening.
