starting with a drive up to
Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. From here, catch a
ferry over to Caladesi
Island State Park and enjoy this beautiful untouched beach.
When you’re
ready for lunch, come back to the mainland and visit downtown Dunedin.
This charming revitalized Main Street has lots of great restaurants,
plus an array of unique shops where you can pick up gifts, crafts, artwork
and antiques. Then drive a little further north up Alternate 19 to Tarpon
Springs and explore the sponge docks and other sites of this Greek
community, like the historic St. Nicolas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, a
replica of St. Sophia’s in Istanbul.
For dinner, try the Mediterranean
fare at Pappas’, famous for its Greek salads and fresh seafood. And catch
the exotic belly dancers who perform on the weekend evenings at Zorba’s. |
