HANDICAP INFORMATION Q. A member of my family needs a Surf Wheelchair. Where can I get one? A. On Clearwater Beach: Pier 60 (727) 449-1036, and the City of St. Petersburg provides 2 chairs free of charge at Municipal Beach, (727) 360-3278, on Treasure Island. RECREATION Q. My children want to swim with dolphins. Where can I bring them? A. Pinellas County does not have a place where you can swim with dolphins. We have cruises that will have dolphins swim in the wake of the boat. Check out Web site for cruises that have them. Q. Can I snorkel in the Gulf? A. We have cruises that take you out to barrier islands so you can snorkel off the shore and see historic ruins of Fort Dade. Or you can snorkel off shore at any beach. Check our Web site for cruises that have them available. Q. How do I get to Caladesi State Park? A. Caladesi State Park, www.dep.state.fl.us/parks/District_4/Caladesi/index.html , has a ferry service. Their phone number is (727) 469-5918. Q. What is the requirement for fishing in Florida? A. Non-residents need a fishing license except to fish from Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach, Sunshine Skyway in St. Petersburg, or Redington Beach Long Pier. Children 15 and under do not require a license. You can purchase a fishing license by phone by calling (888) 347-4356 24-hrs in advance of using the license. Credit cards are accepted. For local purchase, call (727) 464-5500 or visit the nearest Kmart, sporting goods stores, and most bait shops. Q. Do you have any trails to ride bicycles, roller blade, or just take a walk? A. Pinellas Trails, www.co.pinellas.fl.us/bcc/ , Parks Dept., has an online guide of the trails throughout Pinellas County. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION Q. Do you have any coupons for attractions? A. We do not have any coupons available through our office. You can request coupons at www.exitguide.com , Exit Information Guides, from Traveler Discount Guides. Q. What are the criteria for getting married in Florida? A. If neither party is from Florida, the cost is $88.50 and there is no waiting period. If either party is from Florida, there is a 3 day waiting period or proof of 4 hours of counseling. Cost is $56.00. Q. Can I walk my dog on the beach? A. Honeymoon Island is the only one beach that allows dogs. Leashes are required at all times - even in the water. Q. What is the local newspaper? A. St. Pete Times, www.sptimes.com , has local news, weather, and information. Q. How do I get information on other Florida destinations? A. Floridaís destination Web site, www.flausa.com , has information on the entire state. TRANSPORTATION Q. How can I get to Busch Gardens if Iím not renting a car? A. Gulf Coast Gray Lines has daily trips to Busch Gardens. Roundtrip cost is $54.00 and includes admission to Busch Gardens. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (727) 535-0208. Q.
