Home About the Area View ipix Gulfport Gulfport is the oldest settlement in the southern part of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. This primarily residential community of 11,864 is tucked away west of St. Petersburg with a long shoreline along Boca Ciega Bay. Gulfport has retained its small-town identity with several festivals, Art Walks, dances, and community events at the historic Gulfport Casino special events center. In Gulfport, much of the original fishing village atmosphere remains. The city has experienced a spirited renaissance due to renovations and an influx of resident artists who have created an ArtVillage in the heart of the city on Beach Boulevard. On the first Friday of each month, the area village plays host to an Art Walk, a festive event featuring street musicians, complimentary refreshments, hors d-oeuvres and gallery showcases.
