Home About the Area View ipix Largo Referred to as "Citrus City" in its early years, Largo's extensive orange groves provided the livelihood for several of its pioneer families. In 1888 it was established as the railroad's halfway point between Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Today, Largo covers about 14.1 square miles and has enjoyed rapid growth with a population of more than 68,500. Largo is a quiet, largely residential community with friendly stores and shops, beautiful parks and recreational facilities, and diverse neighborhoods. Largo is home to Heritage Village, the area's open-air historical village containing 23 historic structures. Spinning, weaving and other exhibitions are regularly held. Several special events are held at the park including the Country Jubilee in October. For more information about Largo: www.largo.com " www.largococ.com |
