Home About the Area View ipix Madeira Beach Madeira Beach, population 4,230, is joined to the mainland near St. Petersburg by a free causeway. Madeira Beach offers swimming and parasailing as well as jet ski rentals. Boats can be chartered from several marinas for fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Madeira Beach is best known for the famous John's Pass Boardwalk Village. A quaint shopping district which overlooks "fish famous" John's Pass, the Village is home to a large commercial and charter fishing fleet as well as casino cruises. Art galleries, restaurants, boutiques are located in the area and the boardwalk provides a scenic view of the waterfront. More grouper is brought into John's Pass than any other place in the state. It is the site of several festivals and special events, including the John's Pass Seafood Festival in October which draws more than 100,000 people each year.
