Dive In!
Get to know all the resident dolphins at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) with the new underwater viewing tunnel and expanded dolphin show area. Skim your hand across the back of a ray, marvel at massive sea turtles and shake the fin of a dolphin - it's all at the new CMA. And, it's not just dolphins and rays. Now you can meet Bogey, the CMA's latest baby otter rescue, found at a local golf course dehydrated, lethargic and abandoned by its mother.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium mission is to rescue marine life, with a goal of releasing animals back into the wild when possible. If the CMA is unable to do so, it maintains the animals as permanent residents and works with them to educate guests on environmental issues.
New Programs
In addition to the onsite aquarium experience, CMA provides inspiring and educational programs for the whole family, including snorkeling, eco-sealife boat tours, a new weekend guided kayak program and various summer camp opportunities.
An Inspiration, Winter the Dolphin
If you haven't met Winter the dolphin, you'll be touched by her story. After losing her tail due to an entaglement with a crab trap, Winter has defied all odds by not only surviving but learning to swim like a fish. Working with experts, she is now being fitted for a prosthetic tail and is inspiring children and adults alike who also live with prosthetics.
