John's Pass Village and Boardwalk offers festivities for the whole family at the annual Seafood Festival, taking place on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Now in its 27th year, this years' Festival is dedicated to Fishermen Lost at Sea.
The many features of the event include a juried arts and crafts show with more than 50 local and regional artists. Of course, you can also savor tons of delicious fresh local seafood that is prepared in more ways than you can count.
Live music, a street dance in the village, a fishing expo, haunted house, and a children's area is also planned. Kinds can dress up and enter the children's Halloween costume contest, that will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m.. Trick or treating will take place throughout the hours of the event. All costume contest participants will receive a prize.
Admission to the event is free. Parking for the festival is available both in John's Pass Village and Boardwalk and off-site.
John's Pass is both a historic area and modern day tourist attraction and shopping/dining area. Stroll the boardwalk and you can find anything from kitschy souvenirs and beach clothing to high end one-of-a-kind art. There are over 150 unique shops, with many specialty shops including a clothier featuring Jimmy Buffet's fashion line and other Caribbean/reggae style goodies. And with over a dozen restaurants and cafes ranging from local fresh seafood to bakeries and ice cream shops, you won't go hungry when visiting John's Pass.
