The sultry sounds and playful rhythms of jazz will flow through Coachman Park when the Clearwater Jazz Holiday returns to downtown Clearwater, Oct. 18-21.
With its diverse lineup and spectacular waterfront location, the annual festival is known to satisfy a wide range of fans, from devoted jazz lovers to anyone who wouldnt mind soaking up some live music in an idyllic Florida setting.
This years Jazz Holiday will be a four-day, four-night celebration of all types of jazz, from bebop to blues, from big band to the compositions of Frank Zappa. The full lineup will be announced in August. Previous performers have included music legends Dizzy Gillespie and the Count Basie Orchestra, as well as some of todays most popular and innovative jazz musicians, such as the Neville Brothers, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Spyro Gyra and Branford Marsalis.
The Jazz Holiday has evolved dramatically since it began as a series of concerts staged from the bed of a flatbed truck. Now in its 27th year, the festival joins tens of thousands of jazz talents and fans in a world-class gathering that has become one of the areas signature events and one of the most notable jazz festivals in the Southeast. More than 40,000 guests are anticipated. Admission is free to the public.
