Being surrounded by water has its advantages. The Floridas Beach area is a haven for all things fishing because theres so much of it going on all over the area.
No matter where you turn, off bridges and beaches, along creeks and bays and lagoons, youll find somebody with a line in the water. Watch for a minute or two and youll likely see a catch being made.
There are freshwater lakes and saltwater shores. Youll see rodnreel, net casting and trap setting. All done by novices and experts alike. A wealth of different species are abundantly available in our waters.
One of the areas top spots sits in the shadows of a preeminent landmark, within splashing distance of the signature, golden-ribbed Sunshine Skyway. The Skyway Fishing Pier State Park is called the worlds longest fishing pier. It juts into the mouth of Tampa Bay from southern St. Petersburg, itself a remnant of the old Skyway bridge. With supplies, snacks, bait and restrooms, its got everything you need.
No big boat? No problem. Just drop a line along Floridas Beach. Chances are high that you wont be alone.
For fishing license information, call the County Office at 562-3262.
