There's no denying it, the Tampa Bay Rays have had a breakthrough 2008 season!
Coming from a team with the worst record in the majors last season, to being in the playoffs this year, has only been done once before in more than a century of baseball. Seven months ago being in the playoffs was just a dream for this expansion team, but the Rays defied the odds and surprised all.
Now in their eleventh year, the Tampa Bay Rays are not new at setting records. With 10 consecutive seasons of 90 losses or more, they set what was a first in American League history. That's what makes the dramatic turnaround in 2008 even sweeter for fans.
Starting the season with dynamic new players, sporting brand new uniforms and an updated name devoid of the word "Devil", the Rays have ushered in a new era with a shining season.
Post-Season Play
Be part of history in the making and watch the Rays in post-season play. 2008 post-season ticket packages may be guaranteed by placing deposits on 2009 full season ticket plans, for as low as $50. Game 1 of the playoffs is tenatively scheduled for October 1st or 2nd.
