The "Old" Gandy Bridge spanning Tampa Bay north of St. Petersburg has undergone a $7 million transformation into a recreational park called the Friendship Trail Bridge. Directions from the west: From I-275 in St. Petersburg: "old" Exit 15/now Exit 28 to Gandy Blvd. - US Hwy 92, east to Gandy Bridge. See a small brown "Friendship TrailBridge" sign prior to going onto the bridge, directing you to turn left or north to a short approach to the parking lot at the west end of the bridge.
