John's Pass Boardwalk
Pirate Days and Much More!
John's Pass Video Here
Map Here
Discovered by pirate John Levique in 1848, John's Pass is home to bountiful treasures. With humble beginnings as a fishing village after a hurricane tore open the pass, the modern day John's Pass Village and Boardwalk has come along way from the days of John Levique. Stroll along the Boardwalk and through the Village, stopping at your leisure for a scoop of home-made ice cream while you watch dolphins jump or enjoy a complete dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants.
John's Pass Village and Boardwalk houses a unique combination of restaurants, shops, watersports, fishing and entertainment, all nestled in a quaint waterfront setting which was once a 19th century fishing village.
Pirate Days
Each year, John's Pass celebrates its heritage with John Levique Days. This three-day pirate themed event celebrates the discovery of John's Pass by John Levique after the hurricane of September 1848.
Scheduled activities include a pirate ship battle and invasion of the Pass, street parade, story telling, a village-wide treasure hunt, Pirates' Ball, Pirates and Wenches Auction, costume contests for children and adults and a hurricane expo. Various strolling entertainment and artisans within the Village will provide Piratical Merriment for attendees of all ages.
In 2008, Pirate Days are celebrated June 6-8.
Activities Abound
Among the many activities available at John's Pass, fishing, boat charters, dinner cruises, you can also get a bird's eye view of the area by trying a parasail ride.
