Legend has that the Florida’s Beach community of Indian Rocks Beach reputedly got its name when a native medicine man that miraculously healed his chief with the waters from a natural sulfur spring believed to have been located in Kolb Park across from Indian Rocks Beach City Hall. Early settlers seeing the Indians on their way to the “rock encircled spring” would say, “The Indians are on their way to the rocks.”

Accessible beaches and intracoastal waterways provide an array of enjoyable activities for residents and visitors alike. Whether you swim, fish boat or just catch a few ‘rays. This Florida’s Beach community welcomes you to visit their “Little Piece of Heaven” on the sandy white shores of the Gulf of Mexico.

Indian Rocks Beach is a barrier island less than three miles along the Gulf of Mexico with waterfronts facing either emerald Gulf waters or the Intracoastal Waterway. Enjoy the sunrise or the sunset, or both during your stay. At various points along Gulf Boulevard this small island narrows, allowing spectacular views to both the Intracoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico.

Indian Rocks Beach offers lots of places to sink your toes in the sand, soak up the sun or go for a swim. Two county parks are located near Indian Rocks Beach; both are on the Gulf of Mexico and feature fishing piers, nature trails for hiking, picnic areas and swimming.

A variety of shops, restaurants and accommodations cater to visitors who come here throughout the year. Arts, attractions, entertainment and two airports are all within convenient driving distance of Indian Rocks Beach. Accommodation choices range from beach cottages to beach condos, something for everyone.

So . . . close your eyes and imagine soft sea breezes, white sugar sand beaches, sun, fun and more sun; and you are there - in the Florida's Beach community of Indian Rocks Beach.
